I too received such a letter. It certainly reeked of something. I almost sent it to my previous employer in Washington, D.C. due to disclosure. No, I did not join nor did I just drop off the last "Mother Ship."

I haven't understood the issue yet. People get one letter out of the blue. It asks for a membership and a fee. If you are interested, sign for it otherwise reject it. Where is the scam then??
