Phone calls from collection agency with no debt.

You shouldn't be scared of anything. The debt collectors are just trying to scare you. You should send them a cease and desist letter and ask them to stop contacting you as you don't owe any debts.

Have you talked to them or are they just calling and you are screening them? It could be a wrong number

It's always better to talk to them first and know if they're calling you or are actually looking for someone else. If they're calling you, you have to be sure that they're calling you regarding a payment.

Is the CA actually asking for you, specifically? I'm asking because I was having the same problem. I had a CA call and just leave financial information on my voicemail..however...never gave a name who they were trying to contact. I called them and (long story short) they found out I was not the person they were trying to reach.

Quite often they'll have the wrong information and make it a difficult and scaring experience for us. At times, it's even more difficult for us to identify whether caller is looking for us. It mostly happens, when we're in debt and trying to avoid a collection call, and a caller looking for someone else pokes his nose in.
