I think someone has a credit card in my name. I got the bank statement today of money that i owe on a credit card i don't even own. I do not have a credit card at all. What should i do?

You may need to contact the credit bureaus and raise a fraud alert. At the same time, you may also need to file complaints with the local police.

How old are these debts? You may also dispute the matter with your bank.

i would also file a police report. i had my identity stolen and every once in awhile issues do arise from it and most places request a copy of a police report.
did you send a letter to this company to validate the debt? i got a phone call saying i got cable in a state i never even been to. what i did was first contact the company who confirmed that someone used my social security number and name than i filed a police report for my records.

I had my identity stolen three years ago and the criminals changed my mailing address.

I had not recieved my statements.
These guys were good & ran up about $30,000 in charges, wine, computers and toys.
Shipped it to an address in Kentucky.

I had to file the fraud report with the cc's and close the accounts.
Called the cops.....not much help since they are flooded with this type of crime.

Got it finally cleaned up.
Word to the wise, change to online statements.
Check them weekly.

Repsectfully yours,
