Is investing in a life insurance policy a good investment? i have heard that they pay back after a certain time if there's no claim.

Are you talking about Term life insurance?

Yes, it's a good investment. You get tax-deferred growth.

In case of a whole life insurance policy, you can get back an amount after a certain time period.
