How to protect retirement funds in divorce

My mom is 50= woman. She has filed for divorce this month. My question is, can she claim a share in my dad's retirement funds?

Yes, she can claim! The rule is to divide the pension benefits earned during the course of the marriage.

It means your mom would be able to claim half of the retirement funds.

Her claim would be limited to what was earned during the course of the marriage.
