Recently, I got a mail in my e-mail account which says that I can make around $12k each month by working from home doing online works. No doubt it sounds tempting. However, I was bit reluctant to join any such programs since IMO most of these are scams.

I would like to know from you guys about the legitimate ways to make money online. Are these types of offers true?

If it were possible to make that much money a month I would be working for them! I don't buy it!

True, Shaz. If it were so easy to make money, we wouldn't have so many people in debt. Also, the unemployment rate wouldn't have been so high. Mark, I'd say stay out of them.

Anyway, there are legitimate online businesses too which can help you earn good money, one such is - writing for websites. If you have a flare for writing, you can check it out.

Hope others would also share their ideas on making money online.

Sell the things you don't need on ebay, advertise your services on local sites. things like that. But NONE of these "work from home and make blah blah blah a week" are legit. If they were then everyone would be working from home.

also to add if you are crafty you can make or build stuff sell on ebay, or open a website, i hear like the suggestion above that freelancing or website building are great ways if you know what your doing, but that crap you get in your email trash it were it belongs, you will waste alot of time an money to go know were trust me!

I think blogging too can be seen as a good way to earn money online. I'm aware of professional bloggers, who make their living off their blogs.

agreed, blogging has brought me a little cash from adsense, but i just dont have the time or the knowledge to really dedicate my time to it there is just so much to know. so now i just do it for fun an what i bring in i bring in, its not so much about earning as its more about getting the word out on certain things that i feel like expressing. but on average i make around 100.00 every 3 months or so with adsense so i know if i had the know how, id probably do better. but i do it more as to vent or to get the word out, or whatever. but if you got the know how you could surely make alot of money with it im guessing.

I think its never wise to put all your eggs in a single basket. I prefer earning online along with my regular job. It might never get my complete devotion. But I know of people who do it for living. So, may be its worth trying.

agreed.. i make money online and treat it like a part time job, since i used to work two jobs and now it's nearly impossible to find one (my last part-time job laid off all of the night time employees)
