Where can I find out who is and is not licesned in indiana? Looking particualrly into Payday ok

Theresa It is legal there but check with Secretary of States office to see if they are licensed. One thing that you have to stand on there are no rollovers permitted. Which means that payday ok renews and you just pay interest is not allowed there. File complaints with your Attorney Generals consumer division also. KYSIDE38

Here is the thing. We had our account closed due to NSF caused by them. Now they're saying we closed to acccount. They are not licensed in my state. I thought since it says :
Criminal Action: Prohibited

meant they can't take me to court. I have been getting nasty emails and I have contact them to make arrangments receving nothing back from them at all. This is frustrating. Thanks for the help

Take your stand and hold it with these PDL companies. It seems that they are all starting to be very rude and persistent since some are beginning to get sued and etc. Also, PLEASE remember about your state not allowing rollovers as kyside said above. If you calculate how much you have paid them in rollovers, you have more than likely already paid them back what you owe. I would go ahead and get your complaints filed with your AG's office.

If they are not licensed there they are blowing smoke. I dont think they are going to take you to court in a state where they are not legal? Send compllaint to Attorney General. KYSIDE38

Tell them that they are full of BS.. I don't know how many of those emails I have seen. If they aren't licensed to lend in your state, then they don't have anything on you. And if I remember correct, they can't get you for online fraud. Just email them back and let them know that you have filed a complaint with your AG's office and they will be contacted by them..

Theresa - do NOT pay them by Moneygram, whatever you do. And I believe this e-mail, in particular, should be included in your complaint to your state. They are threatening garnishment of your wages, which they cannot do unless they take you to court. If they are not licensed and attempt to take you to court, guess who will be in MORE trouble - you or them?? If they are unlicensed, they know they can't garnish your wages - they would be in so much trouble if they tried.

It was not fraud because I paid them for like, three months before the bank pulled the plug on my account, therefor showing i HAD an intent to pay. I told her I was reviewing my bank documents to see how much I paid them and would get back with them after reviewing the laws in my state. that should make her happy.

Theresa, from here on out, I would simply respond to any e-mails or phone calls with the following:

"I have filed a complaint against your unlicensed lending company with my state's Attorney General, (insert your Attorney General's name here). You will be contacted by them. Please do not contact me again."

If you repeat that often enough, firmly, and then say goodbye politely and hang up, they will eventually stop contacting you.
