Did anyone receive an email from MyInstantBenefits offering them a $3,000 unsecured credit card along with the purchase of an Equifax credit report? As a victim of the Alliance Funding Corporation scam, I am suspicious about this offer. The offer is made to people with bad credit and does not require any purchase of the company's own merchandise or any security deposit. They state that they will not check your credit report yet they want all of your personal information including social security number, birthdate, checking account number, etc. The amount of $3,000 is guaranteed and it seems too large an amount to be legitimate. The credit card is called Benefits member card.

i never got that one, but I keep getting checks from Household bank. they're small, the smallest was $5 and the biggest $15. they say that if I deposit this check then I will be guarenteed a credit card and I will also get a credit repair package. On the back of the letter, in miniscule print, it says that I will be debited $199 for this service. I wonder how many people have actually deposited these checks, then wound up $200 in the hole when that money got debited? The first two times I read through the letter I didn't see that debit info..I guess they're counting on that.

This company is a total fraud. They charge your credit card for a fee of $49.95 9 non-refundable) and provide no service but to send you a $3000 credit card to their own online store. This is total b.s. and i have personally reported them to the better business bureau. Please save your money and do not do business with this company.. It's a total loss!!!

I have reported this business to the better business bureau. They have charged a "non-refundable" fee of $49.95 for providing absolutely no service but to send a $3000 credit limit credit card to their own online store. Would not cancel the account and would not refund the money. I will be pursuing this to the end of getting my money back. Do not fall for this fraud company.

I just looked at the privacy policy on their website. By merely APPLYING for their "service" you are agreeing to receive any an all SPAM mail that they or anyone they want to sell your email address to wants to send you.

Then, you are agreeing that merely submitting your application will be considered a PURCHASE from them. And since you just made a purchase, they are now legally free to telemarket you as much as they want, and are free to give your name out to any of their "partners" so that THEY can telemarket you and the federal do-not call regulations are null and void.

Stay away, stay very, very far away.

I was just wondering??? Has anyone had any positive experiences from my benefits? It was my understanding that they are offering a creditcard to use to purchase merchandise via their online company. Is this not the case? I was never under the impression that I'd be recieving a Bank Credit Card but a merchandise credit card. Any help would be appreciated. Please respond at Email removed as per forum rules-Mike

DO NOT hook up with these people. My Instant Benefits, also known as Horizon Card Services, is a rip off. They will take $80 from your bank account before they tell you that there "credit card" is only good on-line for services they offer. It's not a real credit card per se, such as one you can use at restauants, gas stations, etc. Just what they offer you, and it's all useless. Believe me, I got taken yesterday. Now I'm checking into on-line fraud against them. DO NOT go with these people and tell your friends

They have CALLED me. I don't even know how they got my number, but they keep calling me telling me about an 'exciting offer' and how I am approved for the 3k unsecured credit line. I always ask, "Is it a Mastercard, Visa, Discover...?" and they dodge the question, "Its a credit card."

They have gotten downright snarky when they start confirming my address and I tell them I'm not interested.

You are not naive, nor are others. While it is a scam, their selective wording, along with their fine print, allow them to pull this off. Allow me to Star Wars on you for a minute. In ROTJ, Luke confronts Obi-Wan's spirit, upset cuz Obi-Wan told Luke that Vader killed his father, when that wasn't true. Obi-Wan's response was that Anakin stopped being Anakin when he became Darth Vader, and Obi-Wan hold told the truth "from a certain point of view".

What does all that have to do with this? Same deal, from a certain point of view, they are telling the truth. It is thru the fine print you learn the truth about what the card can or cannot do. Like michikade said, they avoided stating right out what it was.

Along with that, factor in that many of the scams are run from out of the country, it's hard to really nail them, since applying US law is difficult.

If it reports to a major credit bureau, who cares. Everyone here has completely missed that. If you thought it was a Visa or Mastercard, learn how to read. It tell you that in CAPITAL letters right in the Terms and Conditions.

You have a point. Per their terms:

I think my big issue is that the card is limited to their website, with a monthly fee of $15-$20.

You could spend $240 a year on this card and purchase nothing. It is promoted as no annual fee/free enrollment. That, to me, is HIGHLY deceptive advertising.

About 4 weeks ago I filled and online application, which they said was approved. also they said that the card would be inthe mail, however instead, they tried to take $79.00 from my checking account...I've tried several times to get a phone number and it's impposible. What it's wrong with this company?
