I wonder how many of us realized that one number (three digits) would have so much control over our lives. When I was younger and I first getting credit cards and student loans, I never realized that all these debts would accumliate into one number that 20 years now rules my life.
We have alot of unsecured debt and I bounce back and forth between Chapt 13 and contacting a debt consoliation company but you know what holds me back? My credit score. I am afraid of how it will hurt my credit. Shesh. I never knew that one number could cause so much greif in my life.
Do others worry about their credit score as much as I do?? :?:

Yes, it is amazing how a number somehow defines us as a person. I find this incredibly disturbing. I used to worry about my credit and made sure that it was outstanding. But, sometimes we can't control everything, and due to numerous medical bills and a loss of income, my credit is in the toilet. I used to get so upset thinking about it that I became really depressed.

Now, I am passed the point of worrying and feeling low. It is what it is, I can't change what has happened, I can only move forward, and regardless of what the business and financial world tries to impose on us, there are more to people than their credit score.

very well stated Tiffany. Too bad we couldn't put something in there to tell business why the number is so low. Loss of jobs, medical problems, family issues etc. has a huge impact on our scores. But now I deal with my credit union, who has given us a second chance and views us not only on our score but as people. It's nice to see that some banks can do that. Because of the credit union giving us a chance, our numbers are going up :)

by law you are permitted to place up a 100 word statement explanation. Problem is, so much is automated anymore no one would ever see your statement. and for many people (maybe even most people), 100 words wouldn't nearly be enough in the first place.

morning, I did. I tried to be as "to the point" as possible so it wasn't "long winded". But I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to put a statement. Maybe like LCW says - no one would see it, but I did it anyway. Made me feel a little better that I at least got to put my two cents in!
