Has anyone on here used that new drug they have out now to quit smoking Chantix. It is expensive $129.00 for 30 day supply. My doctor said there are three stages of it...anyone tried it and has it worked for anyone? Would like to know before I spend the $ to buy it...

Hahahaha... you guys crack me up. :)

As for the quitting smoking thing, I feel ya. I smoked from age 16-almost 22, quit for a year and a half and then started back up smoking cloves. I smoked from then until about 3.5 weeks ago (age 30 now). It's really hard to stay quit sometimes (especially when I've had a few drinks :P), but I'm glad I'm making the effort again.

Good luck to those who are in the process, and for those who are still smoking, HAVE ONE FOR ME! :P

I know two people who were very heavy, long time smokers. Both used Chanix and both have successfully quit. Both are going on about 6-8 months now. My husband and I are looking into trying it.

hi I just asked a member if they have ever seen anyone carting around the oxygen tank stuck in their nose while they are dragging around their life support on wheels?-- and yet they will still fire up that cig even though it might blow up the tank they are carting around!? I used to think this was unbelievable and that there was no way I would ever be in that situation--but the longer you smoke and the older you get---the harder it is to quit FACT of life --I simply wish everyone here the best of luck in trying to quit smoking --it is definitely a lifelong process and I really hope you are successful in whatever method you may try!

If this isn't an incentive to quit smoking I don't know what else is. A good friend of ours was just put in the hospital as they think he has spot on his lung and liver. He quit smoking a year ago by usin chantix. I am definetly QUITTING. No doubt about it now. I just have to get the will power up. I told myself I would guit smoking on my 42nd birthday which is Nov 3rd.
