has your son got his learners permit yet.my dad let me drive a couple of my friends to the theater for a movie marathon.then we went for pizza.the fact that they trusted we with the family car was the greatest day of my life at the time.

I'm with Paul. I went and got my driver's license on the day of my 16th birthday; my mother let me stay home from school to do it. It was a pretty big deal to me.
Of course, I also skipped school to go see "Return of the Jedi" the day it came out too. That's how much of a nerd I am.
Not sure what else to suggest, it's been a looooooong time since I was 16 Y/O.
