Help- wireless router quit working

Ok so I have a modem and wireless router for my son's pc and playstation. I rearranged my bedroom last weekend and had to unplug the PC and all the wires (that's the room its in), when we plugged everything back up, the router didn't work. I've been trying to read on-line but I don't understand all the pc jargon. When we first got the router a friend gave it to us, we hooked up all the wires/cords and it worked. But reading online it looks like its telling me I need to put in some codes and other stuff.
