I have heard for most of the times that LVNV Funding keeps a track of disputed accounts. This debt is surely out of the SOL period if you have not paid anything within the last 3-4 years.
Be sure to get the details of the debt in writing for a thorough review. You have the legal rights to refuse payment until the company sends something to you in writing. Once you have reviewed the account thoroughly and you have checked the SOL factor, notify them in writing. Send the letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will ensure that the company has received your letter after signing the green slip.
Do not make any commitment to pay the debt at present. LVNV Funding will insist you to send a small payment so that the SOL gets renewed. If you make a payment, you will be brought back under legal collections.

Have you contacted the original credit company and inquired about the account? You can get the details from the CA in writing. This debt is certainly out of the SOL period. Do not make any commitment to pay unless you are interested to do it and improve your file.
If this is a legitimate debt, it should remain in your file for a period of seven years beginning from the date of first delinquency. The copies of your credit report are coming up with different status. You can dispute with the bureaus highlighting this item and request them to fix the possible error.

LVNV is one of the worst slithering sneaky CAs. If you have no record of ever having this CC then you might have a similar name with somebody else and LVNV doesn't care what report they put it on.
If you want it off your reports then send them a DV letter and see what response you get. Then come on back and we will go from there.
LVNV
I thought i would put my 2 cents in towards this company, LvNv is a sub of sherman aquistions along with resurgent capitol and various others. The law states that if the last time you made payment (delinquency) starts from there at a period of 7 yrs and 1/2 month they can contact you until the SOL is expired and even if your debt was charged off they say it is still collectable for that period of time.
If you all want to get rid of the CA people then get a fax number to there HQ and write them a ceast and disist letter to stop all phone calls they have to go by that for law purposes, if for any reason you continue to get phone calls after that period of time then keep track of the date and time they called each time and contact a Attorney you can get 1,000.00 per call for harrasssment and for them not going with the laws. Please check your local laws with in your states this is the case in Texas which is a debtors state and we have some tough laws down here. Like they say DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS
