There have been many guests and members who have complained about receiving numerous collection calls, repeatedly, on their cell phone. For those of you who do not have unlimited service this can eat up your minutes.

I happened upon an article which provided information on how to block unwanted incoming calls, by a few of the most popular providers. Some of the services available to block callers, come with a price (though very minimal) while others are free. I am posting an inactive link so you may read the article, just copy and paste it into your browser.

My opinion is, this would be a good option for illegal payday lenders, or any other number a person decided they wanted to block, such as, telemarketers. I have been receiving more and more telemarketing phone calls on my cell phone lately. I can't place the number on the do not call list for valid reasons I would rather not go into. So, for anyone who would like to block ANY numbers, I posted this for informative reasons.

I've given my creditors my cell phone so they don't bother me at work, or my home phone. If I don't recognize the number, I let it go to voice mail, or push "ignore" and then return the call at my leisure (if I want to). My creditors have been informed not to call work or my land-line. So far it's worked beautifully, and I have limited service. I think by responding occasionally and showing them that you're willing to work out a settlement is to your benefit. We'll see.....

People seem to be missing the point here! This is not to block creditors, it is to stop annoying calls! I have been receiving a call from someone who keeps telling me my car loan was approved! I never applied for one! He called every couple of days and I would have loved to block him! He finally gave up on his own after a month or so!

Some people are so quick to jump the gun when reading posts, without really reading them. this was just some useful information from Shazzers to block unwanted/annoying calls. i never read anywhere in the post that she was saying for us to block our creditors. I too get numerous phone calls about car loans, my car warrenty being extended, how to further my education, so on and so on. the do not call list doesn't work for a damn, so i've been lucky enough that my cell phone has an option to add numbers to a 'block list'. it will not ring through, it just shows a missed call from that blocked number. it's been a sanity saver for me cause i dont have to waste all my minutes on pointless phonecalls, and i dont have to listen to the phone ring 30 times a day! thanks for the info shazzers, hopefully it helps others out too!!!

You're welcome. I guess some people respond in 'auto mode' without even thinking. lol
