Settlement offer advise

World foremost bank is 5-10 days from selling off my acct to CA according to rep I spoke to. My acct is about 160 past due. Balance is just shy of $6000.
I will should have $4-5000 near mid December to settle. Would need to offer a settlement over 2-3 months time. What is an acceptable offer to make. I'd like to offer 2000 or is this too low? I have a few other cards that need settled as well.
Citi 7000, chase 5000, GE cap 5000.
This will be my first time settling, what should I be aware of???
I know to get in writing what was agreed on before making payment, but what else should I do not do etc. Is it common to negotiate R9 rating???
Any additional info is greatly appreciated.
