If your state laws permit the creditor to put a lien against your property, then yes. You need to consult the state laws regarding this. But to put a lien against the property, the creditor/collector needs to sue you and win a judgement.
A "collection agency" cannot put a lien against your house house
A "collection agency" cannot put a lien against your house house nor can they file suit. Only a law office or attorney can sue you or take any legal action. A collector with a collection agency cannot cannot say or imply that they or their company will sue since they are unable to do so.
