I am a 24 year old college student that has recently gotten into a car accident. I now owe them 25 thousand dollars and I also have a credit card bill. They recently garnished 3 thousand dollars that was in my bank account that was suppose to pay for my tuition and living expenses. I have a daughter and no real way to pay this back. I don't know what to do any more. I just need a second chance so I can get this debt off me. There is no way I will be able to pay this stuff back for years and years after school and after I pay my student loans thats if anyone wants to hire me with a horrible credit history.

Please some one give me some real advice.

Don't begin to think you understand my situation lady or lecture me about being a responsible adult. My insurance lapsed when I got with a new company and I had thought they charged my card automatically, but they didn't . Honest mistake. Now I am punished supremely. What ever this forum is to to get information you already have your mind set on making me "get a job" even though I have a job. How do you think I got to school and pay for my child care among other bills I already have. I am telling you in the nicest way possible. If you don't have any information that could possibly help in filing for bankruptcy then please do not respond because you don't know my situation and any information you provide wont help what so ever. Now unless you want to hear my life story how about you just help me.

I honestly am not sure what to tell you, I wasn't judging you. When I suggested making payments I meant for the accident. If this goes to court and you prove you aren't able to pay for this accident in one lump sum the judge will simply order you to make payments based on your income and living expenses. Is there any way you could talk to the other person involved in the accident and see if they will accept payments before this goes to court? I am truly sorry about your situation but I'm not sure what else to tell you. Keep checking back for more replies, someone else may have some advice.
