i just got a phone call from a guy named Steve Wilson and he said he is working for CMG payday loan co., but they are now called Quickcash/fastcash..he told me that they are going to issue a summons, actually he said they were going to send out the paperwork to me and he gave me some kind of court order number. I am in NC and he is in Texas and he is saying that I am being summoned to my local court house about this matter, but he is willing to give me a last chance to rectify the problem and he was going to forward me to their legal department.. He kept asking questions that I would not answer on the phone because he said I was being recorded and it will go to court. What is going to happen to me? I dont want to go to court and how do I dispute something in my NC court system when they are in another state? I really really dont want to go to court. I had sent them my cease and desist letter late last year and told them that if I owe anything, then it will only be the amount borrowed, etc....Please tell me what I can do now to get these people off my back and keep me out of court....desparate and very scared....

First of all, payday loans are prohibited in N.C., see the link below:
http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html
Second, CMG aka Quickcash aka Fastcash aka Mmg marketing group aka Ashland Financial are part of an Internet scam that has been calling numerous people with the very same threat.

This debt is NOT enforceable in a court of law, and they know it, but are hoping you will become scared and give them your account information so they can rob you blind!

This is what I would do, if they call again, I would tell them to bring it on!!

these so-called collection agencies are now calling my parents home and actually calling my Mom by her name...I never gave them that phone number..She had one of them call her this morning (on a Saturday) and was asking her to verify her zip code and address and they even had the wrong address...I just want all of this to end..it is bad enough that my credit is ruined, but it is making me look bad when they call other people about me...I worry that they could be putting information out there about me in other places to ruin my credibility...How do these people sleep at night knowing how they are harassing good hard working people who have already lost either their home or car or just have no money to live on :mad:

Unfortunately you are not alone, there are numerous people who are sharing your same horror story. Please file complaints with your state attorney general and the FTC, you might also file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Our state and federal officials need to be aware of the increase in these scams and the only way that is going to happen is if the consumer informs them.

I know getting that kind of phone call can be scary. But, the issue I have with it is how do you know this guy is really who he says he is and is with the company he says he is with. The first thing I would do is call the company myself and talk to their legal department and see if what he says is really the case. At least by you calling them, you will know if what he told you is true.
If the legal department tells you the same thing, then ask them what you can do to stay out of court. I hope things work out. Good luck.;-)

well gena since CMG is a ipdl not located in this country i would not call either place as since CMG is not a legal lender the debt is non-enforceable.making the threat of court a scare tactic.next seeing as though the OP is in NC where pdl's are not only prohibited, but it's a non-garnishment state.meaning except for student loan debt, tax debt,or child support garnishment is impossible even with a court order.btw calling an illegal pdl is futile as they all think they are owed an ungodly sum regardless of how much they got from the person.nope i don't recommend talking to illegal lenders at all unless that person does owe them on the principle.otherwise you are just arguing, and it's a waste of time.
