My story about debt…

It began sometime ago…and sadly all of it came crashing down on me during the fall of last year. It is amazing how fast time goes by and how fast everything else creates a domino effect. After realizing what had really happened and what I am facing now it is just unreal. Let's start from the beginning…

My husband and I used to make a lot of money, but spent is foolishly, boy did we have a good time though. Took trips, spent extreme amounts of money and nothing to show for it; except bills. Young and stupid was what it was.

I am sure that I am not the only one who took trips on their credit cards. Oh, it's not much I will be able to pay that off it no time. Right after I pay to get the broken car fixed, pay the utilities, pay the vet bill, or buy groceries. Pretty much one thing led to another. Depending on the month, some got paid, while other didn't. I decided it was better to not answer the phone, threw away bills, and thought it would magically go away or that I would win the powerball. Until one day I got scammed.

Earlier last year, I had to resort to taking payday loans, since our credit was so bad. Even did a title loan on our car earlier last year. It was even bad enough that I took payday loan after payday loan. As the old saying goes, “Robbing Peter to pay Paul”. Things were a mess.

Then I got a call that I had been approved for a $5,000 loan. I thought this was the magical phone call. I applied for several loans, various places and was turned down by all of them. I thought I finally was approved and I could pay off all of the payday loans and get everything straightened out. Well I paid the upfront fees, thinking nothing of it because of my credit. She assured me that the money would be in my account within a couple of days. Boy was I blind. Nothing ever showed up and my rent was due. What was I going to do? I pretty much had a nervous breakdown and I called my parents. They loaned me a large amount of money.

This was only the beginning. I was able to deposit the money in the account, but all of payday loan payments bounced because the money didn't show up until after they hit the bank account. Finally, went in and talked to the bank to have the account frozen. Begin trying to get things back together; slowly.

Well in the meantime, my husband found out part of what was going on. He yelled and screamed; since I hadn't told him anything. Basically I just could not bring myself to tell him everything. This was my mess that I got into and I would get us out of it.

Well, after finding this forum, I have learned and discovered so much. I was not aware of the various laws, debt validation letters, etc. I was clueless. This sight is so helpful and therapeutic. Everyone does not realize how much it has helped me.

Is my nightmare over? Not yet, but I am working very hard and will beat this. To pay this debt off, I took an additional part-time job to get this mess cleaned up. I go without a lot but I don't mind. Do I really need much? No, just need a few clothes, an old car, a roof over my head, and a couple of meals a day.

There is time for everything that should be done at the proper age. If you don't enjoy your life when you should be, you will always have some kind of regrets. So, don't feel bad over what you have done in the past.

Now, that you have some good memories of the past and have taken the responsibility to shape up your present nicely, trust me, everything will just happen nicely and according to your expectations.

Since you have realized the aftermaths of taking a payday loan, you are now aware that this is not the easy cash anymore to solve your financial problems. It is still better that you learnt the things at the right time.

It is also good that you have learnt the better ways to handle your finance. Remember, finance plays some kind of role in the personal married life. So, if you keep that avenue straightened up, your married life will be a perfect bliss.

God is with you, me and all of us to support our existence. He shows us the hard days so that we understand the charm of happy days that will be coming ahead. It's just the part of life and it will go on.

Htgt,

I can feel how hard you are trying to pay your debts back. You will definitely be able to get rid of all your debt obligations someday.

Finance is such a thing that should be shared with family members. Otherwise it gives rise to many complications. Try to consult with your hubby as well. It will be easier for you, if you get him involved in the process.

This is perhaps the worst technique of paying debts, letting you into an endless loop of loans. People realizes the fact when it's late, however better late than never. Go ahead with your mission, stick to your planning, I'm sure you will succeed at the end.
