Maybe we have a disgruntled ex-member?

Thanks for the heads up- sounds like an ex-member I remember! About four days ago, I had some really nasty messages left on my home page. I know who it was, their posting style was way too familiar to me, as they had left nasty messages when they were here.

I'm really not sure who it is, I guess what tipped it off was the spelling and grammar mistakes, I could be way off base, it just seemed familiar to me. There were quite a few posts which were very insulting. :?

Shaz, don't worry about who.Most of us older members know who is doing it and we just ignore them while deleting. :lol:

Cajun, it makes me mad when I read some of the childish crap they post, but I just delete and go about my merry way. :D

It makes me mad,too, Shazzers. Like I said, sometimes I don't have time to post, but will come in and Mod and just be removing spam, looking for posts like theirs, etc. I believe I do know who it is. After you are here awhile, the posting style becomes familiar, even if they try to change some of it!..karen

I peeked at the other site, no mention of anyone coming over here to post trash...but it's not like they'd admit it. Though I'm sure they've posted something about me being there. They watch IP addresses and are convinced that any visit from someone in Michigan is from me....whatever. I have better things to do than visit their site. I do check it occasionally to see that they are not trashing us, which I think they've finally stopped doing, for the most part.

I hardly ever see anyone there, is that board even active?

Some of us are supposing that some old but disgruntled ex-members of our forum are trying to malign our forums. We can give username of those ex-members, we're suspecting, in here so that some Moderators who came after them (like jj) know about them and misdeeds at that time (if any). This'll make the communication more transparent and the new moderators will also know what went wrong at that time.

Well, it's more or less just a guess on my part, and I am basing it on posting style, so I am not 100% possitive. But my best guess is Kashzan, I could be mistaken though.

I have a small suggestion. If they know they are getting to us enough to get a mention on the boards, they're going to keep doing it, yes? So let's not give them any ink here and maybe they'll get the hint and go away...

I'm confused - I didn't see the posts myself, but I believe some of the members are talking about Kash, and the rest are talking about it being Steelers, Kyside, and Co.

Kash wouldn't be posting bad things about me though. Or Cajun, or posting about her site, because she doesn't have one. She has her people she doesn't like, and she would've mentioned them in the spam. So if it was about me, then it was the aven gers.

I am glad I missed most of that, I remeber ky and steelers a bit.. I am curious thiough, what was the seminal cause of the fracas?

It was a 2 part problem:

1. They would make new accounts to take advantage of the "double" points earnings that a new member makes for their first few days. They managed to make a ton of money by doing that.

2. They would send new members a PM telling them that they should only listen to their advice, and that everyone else here that posts was stupid and wrong about everything. They also caused quite a bit of drama on the boards.

Well, I will tell you one thing, I am completely finished opening my mouth, I can see that you can't trust anyone. I had hoped that anything said in this Mod forum would remain so, and I happen to KNOW who the person is gossiping because there is only ONE person I spoke to personally when asked about guest posts and what had been posted. If anyone else here cares to know my opinion again regarding guest posters, it will be done in private, or not at all. And in the future, I will be more selective who I share information with. This taught me one thing for sure that I suspected all along, drama seems to be something that SOME people thrive on, I won't be a part of it, I am an adult and will not engage in any of this childish rediculous crap! I am more dissappointed in this person than anything, it's a shame, that's all I can say. :x

I appreciate that very much from whence it came. I'm not here to become involved in drama, and further more, I won't be.

I do have a question though, is there anyway to block PM's from people, I really do not appreciate receiving PM's from ex-members and having my head placed on the chopping block for no reason. I would also request that the Admin please take into consideration the fact that there is a very serious leak in the Mod forum, I will NOT point any fingers, but I will say this, I plan to be more cautious about what I type in this forum, obviously there is someone who is telling ex-members what is being said in confidentially, how sad is that?

I received another PM from Kash, how ironic that shortly after speaking to another Mod via email, Kash somehow managed to find out exactly what was said in the Mod Forum. If that isn't breaching confidentialty, then someone tell me what is?? This is very disturbing to me. I certainly hope there will be steps taken to prevent this from happening again, or I can no longer be a part of contributing in the Mod forum. :x A side note, I do have the emails exchanged between myself and the person I KNOW is providing information to an ex-member, therefore, if any of the Admins would like for me to forward them to you, I would be most happy to do so, at least it will relieve me of any blame. It was just a generic letter saying that he noticed that you( he didn????????t even mention a name) have not posted very much and the boards really need your wonderful advice and input.

Volley actually answered him and told him to leave her the hell alone and stop sending her generic letters. He answered saying it was a personal letter to her because he missed her, so then we sent him the same one that I got and he never said another word

I removed some names and identifying info from the emails above because they were insulting to several members here. That is the only thing that is changed at all.

If I did something wrong, then I sincerly apologize. My intention was to find out if she did it or not, not to start any drama or get anyone mad.

One last note - The reason I was emailing Shazzers in the first place had nothing to do with the spam, it was for something totally unrelated. I just want to make it clear that I did not email Shazzers out of the blue asking her for information about the spam. I had thought we were friends.

damn here we go eating our young... how bout this.. will all the parties to this "issue" resolve it themselves. privately... I was thinking about why have I a member since 2005 just now hit 1000 posts.. 2 reasons 1) because I try to use my works wisely and comment when I feel I have something germane and appropriate to add.. I remember the days when people posted just to post and make money.. also 2) I realize that forums like emails can be dangerous.. too easy to get upset.. upset others, vent emotions without thinking... how bout admin set up a thread, where only the parties to this dispute can post and has it out.. without worry of what others will think.. just good old fashion dialogue..

I did not name anyone specific who I had an email conversation with, that isn't my style, I just want to make that clear. I'm removing myself from this as of now. I'm not defending myself to ANYone, I have no reason to do so. I started this topic for the other Mods to be aware of what had taken place over the weekend, not for any other reason.

Wow. I bet no one has noticed that I haven't been around lately, huh? I can't take it! I don't know who the leaker is, but I know it sure as hell isn't Goudah or Shazzers. This appears to be another misunderstanding that could be ugly and damaging if not cleared up right away.

I'm over it already, but I am disturbed by the fact that there is obviously a leak. I honestly have no clue how that can be rectified. :?

I'm disapointed about a leak too. It's a shame. There really isn't anything we can do about it, I guess..I just hope the person who leaks is enjoying themselves.

I guess I don't worry about it much, though. After the experience I had with the av engers last summer, I have learned the hard way to re-read what I typed three times before hitting quick reply. There are maybe 3 people on this board that I talk to anymore..And it's always by private message. It's not like we're building nuclear weapons or conducting criminal investigations in here anyway..But I guess in my opinion it's just best to keep things generic.

I do not want this to continue at all either. But I also didn't want people to wonder what had happened from reading Shazzers post. I felt that the other side of the story should be known since it was brought out in the first place. I wanted to clear things up so that we can get on with things.

I just feel that people shouldn't jump to conclusions without even talking to the other party involved. A simple email or PM could have avoided a lot of this trouble.

I agree jj that this should have been handled privatly. I think it's all a huge misunderstanding too, and knowing kash she is probably intentionally trying to stir up drama. It's sad that it worked. While my name wasn't mentioned, it was immediatly obvious that it was about me, as I had emailed Shazzers this morning and she said that the mod in question was the only one that she had exchanged emails with. I really valued our friendship, and am hurt that I wouldn't even be consulted before posting some very serious and hurtful accusations.

I was just trying to get to the bottom of the spam. I figured if Admin knew exactly who it was coming from they could take steps to stop it from happening again. My intentions were not to hurt anyone, start any drama, etc. I'm sorry if my actions caused any drama, as again, that was not my intention.

As far as the other stuff, I am way too old for this. As I said, on and off for a while someone has been posting nasty things about me, but I can take care of that. I have been talked about badly by three people openly, but they aren't worth the time or effort to go into it.

I have stated that I came here for help and I stay here to share my experience, strength and hope with others,that's it. The bonus is, I have made some good friends here.

The only problem is that the Moderator Forum may not be as private as I thought. I,like Fins, will be carefull what I say in this forum.
