Signature Links Not Allowed?

What is allowed? What is not? For about 6 months or so I have had a signature link to an article I wrote about getting out of the payday loan trap. I also have one to my website which is disabled at the moment due to my health issues.
I just received a PM from Jason asking me to remove the signature link to the article. That article has had hundreds of hits from this site and has helped many people with their PDL situation. Is that not what we are here for? Other people have signature links that are helpful and relevant without any problem. What are the rules, if any? I feel like I am being singled out because someone complained!

There has been some misunderstanding on my part. I asked you to remove your signature link on the basis of the TOS, which in turn was not much clear on signature links. TOS has been modified.
You don't have to delete your signature link. Sorry for the inconvenience.
