These members aren't posting anything, just joining and joing and joining, is this an attempt to boost the number of members of this community? This is stupid and ridiculous, there must be SOME way to stop whoever is doing this from messing with the census. :evil:

I can't believe that someone could be that bored with life they would spend endless hours on the Internet spamming boards. :shock:

Great catch--but you know what the funniest part of that to me was? It was that PDLOwner was on all but one of the lists! Does that say something or what?

Since the sign-up page (especially the community signup) is just a simple HTML form with POST method, I'm sure it would be easy to write a script/bot that just submits random strings of characters and creates new accounts.

It might be beneficial to have some form of validation to curb these activities. 1) You could have the signup page display an image with letters, and make the user re-type those letters in order to sign up (you see this on many sites, because bots can't read those images). 2) before new user is created, have the server send an email to their email, and the user would have to retrieve their email and click an "activate" link before the account would be created.

We are working on the first point Cruncher but it will take place in our new software as we are upgrading them.

So please bear with us for few more days.

Though we have added the captcha feature in our 'ask a question' section for some reason it is not possible to add that feature in the login section (for the time being atleast) and it seems to be coming from there. :cry:

well the tard is at it again.just deleted 20 more and i feel more are coming.
