I'm in the process of wanting to repair my credit. I fell that debt consolidation would be the best route for me. I have about $10,000 in debt most to collection agencies that I really don't have contact with. Could you please explain how this process works. THANKS!!

Hi Eric,

It will be a good move repairing your credit with the help of the consolidation program. Since your accounts have reached the collection status, the negative has already hit your credit.

Combine your bills together in the consolidation plan and make payments at lower interest rates. Once you get started in the plan, the counselor will also try to waive off the late fees from your total debt. You will end up paying a lower debt amount by the end of this program. Discuss your options with the counselor. It will help in your situation.
