Are your roommates not liable to pay a single penny if you have the written contract with them? Do you have any defense to this eviction from your landlord? If there is any claim against the landlord that would allow you to be compensated for damages you have suffered, it can stand as your defense. Normally, people rent a place to ensure that the place where they will be living is in habitable condition. A dwelling is habitable if it meets all the requirements set out in the law. Check the laws of your state first. If you find the place where you live is not perfectly habitable, ask for the damages from your landlord and apply it to the rent owed.
