Welcome to the forums :D Did they leave this message on your machine or with someone else? Do you know what it is for-credit card debt,pay day loan,etc.?I would keep that message and try to find out who they are and what they want,just be carefull when you talk to them and don't give out any personal info.,if they are legit,they will have this. kajennings--do you know what the subject matter of the call was??? I was just going to say that what I usually do in your situation when I get a rude call---or even a call at all for that matter--whether I know who they are or not, I research the number, get the address and send them a do not call letter. If you don't know who they are, you can also ask for validation at the same time you tell them to stop calling.
Also, after a collection agency calls your home, they are suppose to contact you by mail regarding the matter, and have five days to do so. so if you can't find the address of the person who called, you should be getting something in the mail from them. Then you can send them your validation request and also tell them you do not accept phone calls---written correspondence only (and that not only applies to your home but your job as well and also any family they may be tempted to call). hope this helped. shirley
