When a collection agency contacts you next time, be aware of some points that they have to strictly follow. The Fair Debt Collection Practices have been laid for keeping the collection procedures within the legal lines. You should not be left with this feeling as you are having now if the debt collector actually followed the fdcpa. You mentioned in your post about the repeated phone calls. Did they follow the Mini Miranda rule necessary for the debt collectors? It requires them to identify themselves properly with their company name and the reason of the call? You will gather more knowledge in the FTC website under the FDCPA.
