If you signed a voluntary wage garnishment I would revoke it immediately. E-mail it to them as well as send it certified mail and faxing it to them. And give a copy of it to your employer. From my understanding and what I've learned most voluntary wage garnishments aren't legal and you need a court order to do so.

Wage garnishments are done in the courts. They usually consist of larger companies, such as credit card companies, or car loan places.
Wage assignments are what payday loan companies are doing as a "promisary note". You sign a piece of paper that promises you'll repay. One problem is that wage assignments were done away with awhile ago, and now they're totally voluntary. For them to even be legal, you have to have both parties sign in person.
If this was for a payday loan, it was more than likely a wage assignment they were talking about. Review your loan documents, and find this piece of paper. Fax and mail back the wage assignment and write it red letters void. Attach a letter staying you are revoking all wage assignment rights, and you are asking to cease and desist contact. Send it certified.
Your next step would be to write up a proposal letter, and make an offer. So much per week. Or a payment in 60 days.
