I work for lockheed-martin, as a government contractor. I cosigned on a vehicle for a friend, and she refused to pay it and moved away.

This was fine, but I just got laid off and had to take a lesser paying job at the same company.

I really need help and have no where else to turn.

Since you cosigned on the vehicle for your friend, the responsibility falls equally on you from the point of your creditors? Did you talk with your friend about this situation? This is something I will not do unless I have the complete trust on my friend, otherwise I can land up in a similar situation like this.

I am not sure but i think the one way out is to find where you friend is and call the vehicle lender and arrange for a repossession of the vehicle without her knowledge. I am not sure but you might me able to press criminal charges and then have the vehicle registration placed in your name and then have the vehicle repossessed.
