I thought that I was going to receive a $20,000 dollar loan, by sending in $500.00 to a place called Lighthouse financial and I found out the hard way that it was a scam. Now, I owe about $1400 in payday loans because after I was supposed to receive the loan, I was suppose to send in another $500.00 for insurance. Now I'm scared that my wages may be garnished. I am willing to pay back but with 3 companies, it has to be a little at a time. Or should I file chapter 7 ? Please Help. The companies are cash advance, World wide cash now and cashnetusa.

How much have you paid back so far? I would first block them from debiting your bank account in order to get control of your money back to straighten this out. Then they will have to work with you. Now they are going to threaten you will false threats of charges of fraud and arrest. Understand these are lies and are used to scare you out of your money. Of the ones you listed, CashNet seems to operate by each consumers state laws. How long have you had these loans, this will help to determine how much you should legally pay back.
