I need some advice on what I need to do to get out of debt. When I turned 18 I took a job in property management and was making very good money, however the property was sold and I was put out of a job, then I had a ovarian cyst and bronchitious which caused a delay on finding a new job. Now that I have found a new job I am so far behind on my bills that I can't see the end in sight. I have 4 credit cards (total debt~2,300) and a computer (~1200), plus medical bills that I am working to pay off. I just dont know how to attempt to get these paid off. Any advice would be useful. Thank you!

Welcome to the Community,Babyblue :D Since you have registered, someone will contact you about your free credit counseling. in the meantime, have a look at this at http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/benefits.html it will explain one of your options, consolidation. You can discuss this and your other options with your credit counselor. Good Luck and keep us posted....Karen

Consolidation sounds to be a good choice. Since you have a new job, the monthly payments will also be affordable for you. The credit card interest rates may be very high at this moment. Consolidate all the accounts under one payment plan and get lower interest rates from your creditors. If late payment fees are included in your file, most of them will be waived off and your money will go to the principal only.

In case, the consolidation payment seems to be higher for you, look into the debt settlement program. The payments here are very low and everything will be paid off, but make sure you know how this program works before getting started. Read this link to know about the debt settlement program.

Many people assume that consolidation and settlement is the same thing, but they are not. Clear all your confusions in the debt settlement plan. All your accounts will be paid off and creditors will update your file with the bureaus. This one can also be an option
