Debt consolidation for college students: Can it be done?

trav031, welcome to the boards and NO you did not make a HUGE mistake. Are you in college now? How much total debt do you have and are any of them payday loans? You can get a job, it might not be your dream job but if it helps to pay down your debt then great, the job is not forever. Keep posting and we will help you through this. Also it's Saturday night, quit worrying and get some sleep, you don't have to solve this problem tonight, it will be okay I promise.

Okay---so now you pick yourself up and start again. Begin looking for some type of employment or way to pick up some money. You might be able to find something seasonal even. Do you receive any type of financial aid from going to school (pell grants, etc.? If so have you or are you due to receive any type of disbursement of funds on your student account?

Since you registered a debt counselor will be calling you with information and different options available to you. Relax----things always seem worse late at night. In the meantime, read the postings on the boards and ask questions.
