Looking towards the future

I'm trying to find ways to improve my credit score. I'm always looking towards the future in terms of where I will be. There are a few setbacks though. My mother signed me up for two free phones with a required plan under my name because at the time I was a clean slate with no credit at all to my name. It was ok for a while though after a few months things happened that caused the payments to stop and now I have almost a $900 fee against me. I really want good credit and I know I can probably save up to actually bring this payment down a bit but this might take a long while. I just want to squash this debt so I can worry about other things, simpler things
