Did you check for their feedbacks with your local AG and the BBB? You will be more precise whether to work with them or not. You should take one more quote from some other settlement company and compare.

(www.planetfeedback.com) & (www.ripoffreport.com). These are two websites that allow consumers to post their negative or positive experience with companies. Do a search.

Have you tried to make arrangements to pay your bills off with the companies themselves? Have you considered other debt consolidation companies? Have you researched to how much bankruptcy can affect your credit and your ability to make purchases, obtain loans and credit cards?
I am asking these questions because I would consider bankruptcy only as a last option when you have no other alternatives. I had to file a few years ago (story on my blog) and it has not been pleasant. I am just getting my credit back in order.
