I am a single parent of a child with a disability and a full time student. I have been between jobs and in the year 2005 could not work after November, due to being fired. I could not find work for about a year or so and all of my biss got far behind. I would love to pay the people I owe so they wont think I am avoiding them.

Golden: First off, do you recieve any sort of payment from the state for caring for a disabled child? Also, if you are a single mother, you may find many programs sponsored by your state, which will give you ample financial assistance to help you through school and to care for your diabled child. Please look into your state's website and state programs for any opportunities available.

Golden,first off take care of your basic necessities like food,shelter,medicine,and utilities. If there is anything left over,then worry about your past bills.Anthony gave you some good advice. Check your state and also federal for any programs that may help you in your situation.

Yes, do check out what type of programs you may qualify for...there are a lot of things out there. You may qualify for WIC, which will help with some groceries or you might be able to get some type of food stamps, which would help. If you rent, you might checking into housing assistance, which will cover part of your rent. You will just need to make sure that if you do qualify for it, your landlord accepts it, and there are many other programs out there. Most of these are based on income, but I think it might make a difference with you having a child with a disability and special needs.
