Yes, do check out what type of programs you may qualify for...there are a lot of things out there. You may qualify for WIC, which will help with some groceries or you might be able to get some type of food stamps, which would help. If you rent, you might checking into housing assistance, which will cover part of your rent. You will just need to make sure that if you do qualify for it, your landlord accepts it, and there are many other programs out there. Most of these are based on income, but I think it might make a difference with you having a child with a disability and special needs.
