It was almost four years ago that things took a turn for the worse. To try to sum it up, the same day I found out that I was laid off from a good paying sales job we found out that my house was being filled with carbon monoxide. Our daughter was two and we had a newborne son still only a few months old. After having to spend a day at the hospital recovering we had to move in with my mother while the house was being taken care of. During this week both me and my wife lost a grandparent and the only job I could immediately find was managing a local McDonald's. We went from making 50K a year to 15K. We had to file for bankruptcy and forfeit our home...
BUT WE'VE BOUNCED BACK!!! I had worked for McD's for only about 6 months when I found a great position working for One of the largest banks making decent money again. Since then I have not allowed ourselves to drown ourselves in debt like we had done in the past. I am slowly rebuilding our credit and we hope to buy a home within the next year.

I just wanted to share this so anyone who is here feeling down and out. Most of us have "been there before" and the best thing you can do is learn from your experiences. I have enjoyed all of the advice given here and enjoy giving when I can. :D

That is great to hear and it gives others hope. It is great that you now have a plan and a goal.

Thats what I keep telling hubby, it was a lesson learned, a very hard lesson. But now we have a plan and a goal set for us. Yes we still hit those bumps in the road, but at least they are just bumps now, not huge potholes lol.

Keep up the great work!!!
