Sick of debt

First of all I'd like to say I'm so happy I found this website. I'm not even sure how I got here, but am so glad I am here. This is an amazing website!
My story is mainly that I've been robbing peter to pay paul for years now and am so sick and tired of it.
The last few months have been such a wake up call for me. I've borrowed from our 401k and used payday loans. My family has even loaned me money. Some of it I've paid off. But I'm at an age now where I am so tired of all of this and want so very much to pay everyone off that I owe and to live in peace! We've refinanced our house a few times, taken out a home equity loan, have credit cards. Luckily, we've never lost our jobs but it seems like we've been living from paycheck to paycheck. It's like what my Dad told me years ago, being in debt backs you into a corner. I so wished I would have listened to him.
But I can only move forward. I've learned to be patient, that we will get out of this mess some day! I've learned to say no to my kids. I just don't want them to make the same mistakes I have.
I do have a plan to get out of debt. I just need to be patient and take one step at a time and one bill at a time. I read postings on this website quite a bit and boy does it help.
