Well heres my story as is seemingly requested. It all began back in college. I went away for school and needed money for the little things like beer and wal mart. i got a credit card and max'd it out in weeks. th original amount was 1800$. obviously with little to no income i couldnt pay the thing, never thought about that! i tried negotiating with mbna and they wouldnt have it. finally i asked them if they would close the account and stop tacking on over the limit and late payment fee's so i could get ahol of the balance and pay it down. they agreed but low and behold next month i get a statement with late fee's and over the limit fees. i called and they told me that that person had no right to negotiate that. i told them if they couldnt then sorry i couldnt pay them. they said thats your choice. fast forward 4 years. i had quit school and took an electrical apprenticeship and was making kinda ok money. i got a call from some collection company about that debt for mbna. my debt had now balloned up to almost 5000$ but they wated to give me a real deal and pay it off for 3000$. i said no thank you. and to this day i get a call just about every day from them. also over the course of my post college life i hadnt had any health insurance. unfortunatly i have asthma and need ER services and some other things here and there. just barely making it on the money i was making i couldnt pay those either. well i recently got a job with the railroad making damn good money and thinking about the life ahead. unfortunatly the life behind is puttin on the brakes. so now here i sit with a roughly 5000$ credit card debt that started out at 1800$. and about 3700 in medical debt all in collection. my whopping fico score of 564 qualifies me for a good laugh from any creditor.
just looking to clear up all this stuff so i can move on with my life. i know my debt isnt as bad as a lot of peoples but it sucks none the less. the bad thing is EVERYTHING is in collection so i have to deal with these guys who apparently love being scum of the earth. makes negotiating with thme that much harder.
just fyi all this debt is like 5 years old or more. since then i have 2 loans, 1 for my truck thats halfway paid off and 1 student loan thats halfway paid off, no credit cards, and if i cant buy it with cash i do not get it. ive become the poster child for reborn fiscal restraint.

I hope you can get all of that debt paid out and out of your hai
I hope you can get all of that debt paid out and out of your hair. I totally understand where you coming from as for the college thing. If you don't have a job or parents or someone thats willing to help you out its really easy to come into debt. It gets to the point where the credit card companies come to campus and set up tables and get these kids to sign up for credit cards. Its so sad because I was one of them. I wish I had the knowledge I have now when I was in school.
