Hi Milkman -
Welcome to the forums! You have come to the right place.
Since you have registered with this site, a consultant from your area will be contacting you soon to discuss your options for debt consolidation or settlement. They can discuss your options for consolidating or settling those payday loans.
In the meantime, check out the Benefits of Debt Consolidation:

If you could post what state you are located in, how much the original loans were, whether they are storefront or internet loans, and how much you have paid on them, we can offer you some tips. It is possible you might not need to consolidate if you can pay the loans off yourself.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know - we're here to help!

It would help us if you tell us which internet loan you have. If you read further on this website, you will find the laws concerning payday loans in Ohio, which I believe they are to be illegal if they are internet ones.
You have come to the right spot because there are so many individuals in a similiar situation such as yourself.

Beauty is right. Either close your bank account. Do not place a stop payment on your account to prohibit this company from debiting your account. A stop payment only stops that one payment amount. That same company can come in and use another payment and continue to debit from your account. What I did was place a statement of unauthorized debit on my account which prohibited that company from pulling from account period (free of charge at most banks; stop payments will run you $29).
Also, I would recommend you find out more information about the companies you are having problems with. Look on this board to see if anyone else has loans with those companies. You will be surprised to see what happens and how these companies are scamming the consumers.

You can also get your bank to place a stop pay on the company for all amts. This will usually run you between $25-$30, mine is $25. I did this on my old acct for several PDL companies and it worked.

Yes, I found out the hard way about placing a stop payment on paper checks from PDLs. They put it (the check) through electronically and it cleared. Even though I had put a stop payment on the paper check.

Boy, that's rotten, Lorri! They're so darn sneaky!
I very distinctly remember putting multiple stop payments on my account to get the PDL's to stop debiting - my reasoning was it was cheaper to pay $25 for the stop payment than to have them debit me for over $100.
I hadn't found this site at that time, sad to say. I could have saved myself even that $25 if I had found this site and the advice to close my account and start over.

You also need to file your complaints with OH AGs office, you can do this online. They actually prefer that method they receive the complaint immediately. The only internet pdl that is licensed to loan in OH is CashNetUSA.
