(all Storefronts and have not been paid because I don’t know if I can pay and few dollars and come back next week with more)
My wife and I have been going around and around for 4 months attempting to pay these guys off. But bills, rent, and insurance also had to be paid. We have reached the breaking point and have grown tired of the endless merry go round life of these loans. We used CFSA on 3 others and have not returned to those stores. I personally destroyed 2 new books of checks. But we can’t get ahead at all. We literally have lived off of $100.00 a months for food and gas.
About a week ago most of the loans came due on the same day. In a way it’s a blessing. Maybe I angered enough of these places that they will never lend to me again. I hope. I’m willing to pay the old debts. I just can’t afford to pay the whole amount at once. Most of these companies have been polite, so far.
I came here looking for help. I called a few debt-counseling places and none of them could help. I was told the payday companies would not work with them.
I’m at my breaking point. I cant sleep because of these loans. Recently my doctor placed me on medication due to high blood pressure, which I never had before all this. I can’t get a personal loan because I have zero credit and don’t own a house. My family cant help me because the are also debts of their own (mortgages, car loans, student loans).
If I could only buy a little time (a month) to file my taxes. Maybe then I could get rid of most, if not all of these loans.
I could use some help. Any Local Ohioans who cant give me some info on what I can do.
Ill keep posting and updating as I go through this...

The number one piece of advice I can give you is keep up communication with these places. As long as you are communicating, not ignoring their calls, and paying something, they are not likely to sue you.
Just be honest with them. Explain you got in over your head, and just need a bit of time. Pay them something, even if it's $10 a month. With tax time coming up they are likely to wait until you get your return.
Some of the companies may start getting nasty, but just stay calm, explain the situation, tell them they will get paid as soon as you can, that you aren't running from your debts, but you can't pay them what you don't have.
And hang in there! You are not alone! There is light at the end of the tunnel. Defaulting on the loans was the first step. Now you can start paying them down instead of reloaning from them and never getting ahead.

you are going to have to try and make arrangements with each company since they are storefront...keep all documentation of any attempt you make to pay them back.
Update 1
My wife and me went to the stores and stated our case. One company wanted to do a CFSA for 2 weeks. I informed them about it being 4 weeks and showed them a pamphlet that I got from CFSA. So I made our first payment on one of the loans. I paid off another, but still have the large ones to deal with in time. I was told that the store locations cannot refuse any payment. They may still try to take me to court. But most see that any payment is a step to repay these loans.
The update after tonight????????s stops:
Always Payday $460.00
E-Z Cash $687.00 (waiting to talk to the owner going to pay $30.00 Saturday for good faith payment)
Check Exchange $230.00 (paid 57.50)
Checkland $230.00 (paid 115.00)
Cashland $230.00 (paid off)

Update 3
Today I payed another $35.00 to one of my loans. The loan place wants to work with us. Which is good. Patting myself on the back I got a call from my wife. One of the loan places called her at work and refused to work with her. He said he was going to garnish her wages. She told him our plan to pay them off (faster then a judgement would take) and the guy stood his ground and continued to make threats. She told him the loan went to rent. He informed her that was his money and he should have it not our landlord. He instantly hung up the phone. My wife was upset and went back to work. He called again with little else to say other then repeating what he had already said.
On the upside I filed my taxes. Some companies can download w-2s online. Even though the IRS will not take 2007 forms until Jan 11, at least Im filed and ready for the IRS to take them next Friday. I don????????t normally support Instant refund loans, but in this case its worth paying the higher rate of interest for peace of mind (if the loan is accepted). I can hope this will allow me to pay this guy off and not have to deal with a garnishment.

gorilla I'm sending you out another pat on the back! Good luck in the new year and please try not to let this further upset you and your family
you know you owe the money..you are trying your best to make amends..my hope is that you get these debts paid off as soon as possible..and can move forward...
and perhaps can caution or prevent someone else from getting in the same predicament ...
also the pdl should keep in mind that if people who owe them money don't have a roof over their heads...pdl's don't have a pot to piss in..
continue to put your family first ... and your obligations to others next..it will take time but there is an upside and light at the end of the tunnel! Once again Best of Luck to you!!!!!!!!!
Things you can do to help...
Things you can do to help get extra money.
I own a lot of DVDs. Here in Ohio they have stores that will buy your used DVDS. You wont get near what you paid for them. But give up enough you can make earn so money that way.
I own many books. Auction them or sell them online at a cheap price. This is how books that sell for one cent allows the sellers to make money, quoted shipping is almost a dollar more then media mail.
Sell your good but older clothes. Wash them and put them in an online auction or a retail store that buys used clothing.
Return Christmas gifts. Have the shirt that is not you, return it and get a store refund card or a cash refund. I returned just afew items and got enough returned on a refund card to buy almost a month of groceries.
Ive learned the hard way that the stuff that fills my home is just stuff.
I think of all the extra money I will have once these debts are gone and how can always rebuild my collections later.

Amen to that. I hope that more of us remember that this year so that we are NEVER tempted to take another payday loan.

online loan
Can anyone help me in OHIO? My husband took out 4 pay day loans online. Two he paid back on the due date, and the other two he opted to pay the fee and extend the loan. Now, there is no option for paying the loan and they take weekly and biweekly. For $500 in loans from these two, we have had over $1100 debited from our account. We are calling the bank today to see about blocking or closing the account. I do have a second checking account that I don't usually use (I never ordered checks for it). I could use that, unless they would allow access to that for these places. HELP! The names of the places are Payday Trans and MTE Financial. It's been since November. I am relieved to see I am not alone!!
How much have you paid for the 2 in their roll-over fees?

All the debts are gone but a few hundered from 2 small loans. I dont have the numbers in front of me. I think its $115.00 on one, and $98.00 on another. But the big ones are no more and the rest i can take care of within a few more weeks. It took a lot of money out of pocket and some missed meals.
Im setting up a meeting for credit help with credit cards and unsecured loans (less then $2000). The credit cards took a backseat so I could pay the payday loans. They also helped during the last 2 lean months. With credit card interest much lower then payday loans I took the gamble. Im paying off the low ($300 limit) cards off. The Higher cards ($500) Im making a double monthly payment until the lower amount cards are payed off.
But those missed payments were made up in Feb and March.
Right now with credit help Im looking at $211 a month for one payment and it taking 24 months to be out of credit card debt. Paying off those lower amount cards will reduce that by half, allowing me and my family to get back to normal spending and saving.
To answer a question. Ohio does not allow roll overs. One check cashing compnay allows an extention. Its $10.00 per $200 borrowed. Im not sure the extention is legal.
socksfullofrocks, I just bought a mini gorilla a week ago. Gives me and my daughter something to do.
Sorry it took so long to reply. E-mails from here were sent to my spam folder.

Which company is doing the extensions? That makes me curious if this is a private lender and not a chain and they are making their own rules?

I think it is a place called Check Mate. They have a few stores in the central Ohio area. I belonged to two stores and only one did the extention. It had the extention rules posted right on the teller window. It gave the amounts and the fees. All the other sotres did not have this posted.
