Hi---although you guys have heard me go on and on about a wells fargo account that no one will talk to me about---I also had a small wells fargo account that I recently used my points to pay off. I was keeping up with the balance on my own. I have a filing cabinet and each creditor/collection agency has a file. I have a peice of notebook paper in the file with the beginning balance on it and every month, when I make a payment, I take that amount away and it leaves me with what is owed now. So I thought I had it down what I actually owed wells fargo on this particular account but my credit report showed something else. Since it was only a couple of dollars difference, I wasn't going to argue over it. I went ahead and sent the amount. I got a check from them today, apparently I had over paid on this account and they were sending me the difference. They thanked me and noted that this account is now paid in full.
That made me feel really good---seeing that 'paid in full'!!!!

I told my husband though, these are the very same people that won't talk to me about the other account. Isn't it weird? I thought maybe this would give me the chance to write them back now and ask 'okay, now what about the other account'? I've proved, by paying this on my own with no collection agency breathing down my neck, that I intend to take care of business. I paid this off, and am paying another account that they sold to a collection agency--so it leaves the one account that NO ONE will talk to me about. I just sent these people a certified return receipt letter in january trying to get them to talk to me. The whole while, I'm paying this other account off.

I guess this also proves that the credit bureau isn't always right in their reporting. They had this final payment off by $21.00. shirley

Hey Shirley,

Great job getting another account paid off! I am so excited for you! Must feel really great, taking big steps like that. How funny they are sending you the difference, that is pretty cool, but unexpected!

It is really strange that the exact same company is not talking to you about this other account...do they have different offices on opposite sides of the world or something? LOL...makes you wonder how it works, huh?

Anyway, great job!!

~Mary

Good for you!! And thanks for the light at the end of the tunnel! Usuaally when I see a light at the end of my tunnel it's an oncoming train LOL I understand what you mean by the wrong information between the Credit Agencies. I have one account being shown twice on all three agencies (once by the original creditor and once by a collection agency)and they are all different amounts. The difference is as much as $7,000!! It's insane.

I wanted to ask though, was there one particular person you were in contact with on the account you paid off? Maybe he/she can help you out with the other account since they already worked with you? Just a thought. Again, congrats!

Thanks so much guys!!!! It really makes me feel good with you all encouraging me! As I posted in another thread, I also paid my lowes card off this weekend!!! Thats four things I have paid off over the past couple of weeks!!! But two of the four were in good standings (the other two were charge offs), I just paid them off to get them out of my hair and to have more money in our budget every month. I can now put this money towards my other 'charge offs' that are being held by collections and get them out of the way that much faster. Thats the plan I have been working on. Thanks again everyone, your encouragement means alot!!! hugs, shirley
