Hi

I am totatlly disable and today I am really a mess and I really feel terrible. I was told by The COLLECTION agency to provide a letter for them to sign by 2,00pm today. Sorry that I have not properly introduce myself. I need a letter that I can provide to the Collection Agency to sign that would have legal wait and hold up in court in the event that they violate there promise of not reporting my fully paid account to the credit reporting agency. THank anyone who can help in advance. I would really appreciated. I am not sure what would be legally sufficient to protect me in the event that they have or would report my fully paid accounts to CRA. They said give them the letter to sign. They told me according to there records it has not been reported but that if it has they would delete it immediatelly. Please help.

Nikko

Nikko,

Are they speaking of debt validation letter? If so, send a debt validation through certified letter to the collection agency. By laws, they are required to validate your debt and give you all the information you need. You can find the debt validation letter sample in the Ebooks section under Our Services.

The CA must give you the complete details of the debt in writing before you sign their agreement. Use the federal laws and protect yourself from getting intimidated.

Tell us the name of the CA you are dealing with. Do you know the name of the company for which they are collecting the debt? If your account has not been sold, the collector will report your account back to the creditor after it gets paid off. The bureaus will also be notified about the account being paid off. You must have everything in writing for documentation purpose. If you don't have any records, you might fail to prove your actions later.

CLE or something to that effect. They will if they want to fully be paid. I have not paid them. I told them that they must put it in writing because I always pay somethign and then it ends up on my report. I am very forgetfull and often I am told is what you need to pay us and I do. The problem is I have done this before with other companies. Then 3 months later it appears on my credit report as paid. I have realy had it. People with my type of injury always forget and not on purpose but that is how things are. Then when I receive a call for the first time from A collection, I give them my checking account number and pay what ever. But my credit is being ruin not because I don't pay but after I do the items appear on my Credit Report for the first time as PAid collections. At this point they can put unpaid because what exactly is the use of me paying them and then been penalize. Sorry for the writing.

Hi all

I am sorry about my desperation a few days ago. I was not feeling well. I told the CA for them to provide the letter to me. They provided me with the following letter:

Provided that Nikko XXX pays in full the amount of 7.00, within the next ten days, this CA, and our clients have agreed not to report the account to the Credit Reporting Agencies. In the event the account has been submitted to the CRA in our monthly reports, we will promptly have it remove.

Note: We refers to this CA and Client unless otherwise noted.

The letter was sign by a supervisor, and where the letter has CA or Client the companies real name appears. I was not sure if it was ok to post the real names here on the board. I am a register user but I cannot remember my password. I really love this board and will register again.

Does anyone see a problem with the letter they provided? Should I asked them to add something else to it? Thank all it is just that I am often really not sure of anything. I have been taken advantage off so many times.

Brain Injured

Hi Nikko

I wonder if the collection entries can be removed from the credit file before 7 years. But since you have this important evidence in hand, you can put it in use at the later stage.

I am assuming that you have reviewed your account thoroughly and found it correct. Go ahead and pay it off. It will be a relief.
