What do you do when a payday loan company such as Sonic Payday won't accept partial payments or even some form of payment plan? They told me that I needed to pay the total amount due on the 28th. They then said that I could reloan. This is exactly the opposite of what I am trying to do. Should I send them a letter stating a payment proposal along with a small payment? Can they garnish my wages? If so, will I be notified?

Thanks
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Welcome to the forums.

Usually, those payday loan lenders who do not want to work out a payment plan for you want to recover their money in one single time. They want to express that they don't wish to extend any benefits to you.

Tell them on such occasions that you don't have that much of amount to pay and if the payment plan is not accepted, you won't have any other way but to default on it.

Do not take a loan at any cost otherwise, you will be increasing the total amount of debt. They want to earn maximum money from you and offering a loan to you can get their existing loan paid. Not to mention that they will earn interests on this one as well as the new loan taken.

Express your intentions to set a payment plan for you so that you are regular with your bills. It will be also helpful if you can send them some advance money so that they get assured with your proposal.

They can garnish your wages if your state laws allow it. But it can only happen after you have been asked to appear in the court. A notice will be served to you before garnishment takes place.

Your best bet will be to offer payments to them. This will also save the account from turning into collections. Even though it might take some time, but I assume they will accept it. Stick to your plan.

Regards
Roxette

Just a little note to all who have had any type of experience through Sonic. I have made my point strong and clear through a Yolanda Green (Yolanda Williams). They DID NOT make any attempt to do a wage assignment, and did not even contact my employer. I defaulted on my loan, and did not pay it back till about 2 months later. They did not even assess any finance charges or renewal fees. The only charges that appeared were the NSF fees (one @ $29) that happened with the first run through.

Anyway, you'll have to change account numbers tomorrow...if you don't want the payment to go through. You'll be assigned the $29 NSF fee, possibly. But this will at least keep what funds you need. Try to get this paid off within your next 2 paychecks.

Regards-
Mike

They called me this afternoon at work wanting payment. I told them that I could not pay the full amount. He said then that he would need to speak with someone in my payroll. I told him that I didn't sign a wage assignment and he told me that I had to in order to get the loan. He called several times after I told him to stop calling me at work. He said that he needed to speak with my supervisor. I told him that she wasn't in at the moment. He wanted her voice mail. I hung up on him again. He called back, except this time he called my supervisors number. I don't know whether or not he left a message for her. I am afraid of what is going to happen next.

Well, he did leave a message on my supervisors machine. I told her that they were trying to get ahold of my payroll department. She said that in order to get through to the payroll department they would have to speak to her and she told me that she isn't her. This is very true. She stays out of the office alot, so this is really not a lie. I felt so embarrassed. She didn't think to much about it. She just said to keep paying them, which I will.

I have had a similiar experience with sonic and they are very rude until you bring the attorney general & law enforcement into the situation. We have 1700.00 stolen out of our account we faxed them a police report and they wanted the report in our writing because this was a fake police report. We firmly stated that it was an actual police report and had the officer who took the report call and verify. Went two weeks nothing, then Erin Kennedy from National Capitol Collections (inhouse collections) called and gave us a bunch of grief and then I started questioning why they wanted the money sent western union in sonic, texas and she was from NCC in Delaware and calling from British Columbia and she stumbled over herself and transferred me 7 different times and now its been a month a no more contact with sonic. Til a physical address is givin, I am refusing payment. Because after what I have read about them, you need all the proof you can get, to go up against them.

Hi Guest,

Welcome to the forums.

You can contact Sonic and put a debt validation request at the following address:

Sonic PayDay
P.O. Box 1209
Oaks, PA 19456
(877) 263-3666

This company is not listed with the BBB and has unsatisfactory business performance. You need to be a bit careful while dealing with them. Keep everything documented so that you can track it later for legal use.

Roxette

Hi Guest-

Erin Kennedy is actually with E-Care based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her direct line is 866-793-6548. I have actually had better luck with Yolanda Williams (Yolanda Green) 866-235-3981. Apparently they are under renovations in their offices and are changing desks. David Ash and Peter Ash are the owners of this company. The call center is actually called Blizzard Interactive if that helps any. I'm not sure where the addresses in Deleware or in Oaks, PA are...as far as being a business with the company. But the corporate offices are Surrey, BC...and as I mentioned the call center in Winnipeg.

I surely hope the letter you mail out ends the troubles you are having. Tossing the Mr. Ash name around will definitely get their attention though.

Regards-
Mike

Mike,

Here are the numbers I have for Erin Kennedey at NCC. 800-772-9803 and her direct line 866-343-8926. Erin stated that NCC was out of Delaware and the address is 234 North James Street Newport, Delaware. I have this on tape. The other number she called from is 604-587-6200. These are the numbers I have. I don't want to cause problems, just trying to help people so they can avoid what we've been through.

The address you have for North James Street in Deleware is just a forwarding address to their office in Winnipeg. This is a Canadian based company that supposedely processes their transacations out of Ireland to go by their laws. I have loaned with them numerous times, and the last time I defaulted and therefor had to do a lot of investigation on this company.

They try to name each company, ie...E-Care, Sonic, Coastline, PLR Direct different and place them in different locations, when they are all in the same building.

I have more names and numbers if you should need them.

Mike

Mike,

The other addresses I have found for Sonic is 18-19 College Green Dublin, Ireland, 42 Reads Way New Castle Corporate Commons New Castle, Delaware, 901 Market Street Wilmington, Delaware,13696 104th Avenue Surrey, British Columbia V3r-1v9. How can a company get away with having so many forwarding addresses? We have learned our lesson on payday loans and will NEVER AGAIN get hung up in the cycle.

Mike,

I found them on a website called ripoffreport.com and there are numerous people that have had trouble with sonic and these are the addresses they were given. You would not believe the things people have went through with sonic payday. I received a letter from the Attorney Genreal office in Pennsylvania and they have launched an investigation into Sonic at their Oaks, PA address.

OK..actually I posted a few of those. All the numbers, and such are from me haha. Yeah when I first had my fall with them, I was pretty irrate trying to find out as much as possible about the company. I'll admit, the last time was my fault...but the way they went around my back after telling me they would only accept Western Union payments was unacceptable.

I'm fine with them now, but I try to warn others as much as possible about the company, through the intensive research I did.

Mike

I need to know what I owe? I also want the
payment to go through on Nov. 25 instead of Nov.
11 or 14. Their will be no money to pay the
payment until later not even the $45 fee.

I too took a loan with Sonic Payday. I defaulted on my loan but called them 3 days before the laon was due to tell them the situation and to offer a partial payment, the lady refused it. I tried to explain that i would HAVE to make partial payments because I had someone steal my bank card.
Now I get 3 or 4 phone calls at work, which are recorded and not allowed(personal). They will not work out payment plans and are sooooo rude and intimadating.
This Forum has helped me a lot.

Thank you.

Daniella

I will prefer a free counseling at this point as I know that even though I try hard, Sonic is not willing to arrange payments for me. I might be able to learn some tricks to handle such agencies from my consultant.

I have experienced a great help from the consultant working in my program of this site and that is the reason I recommend you the same thing.

Sonic will try to enforce the wage assignment. You need to send them a wage revocation letter asap by certified mail with return receipt, email and fax. That way you have three ways to prove you sent it. Then give a copy of the wage revocation letter to your employer. Sonic is very hard to deal with. You have to stand strong and enforce your rights.

Daniella,

Here's an email address for a representative at Sonic. If you explain your situation, they might be able to work out a monthly payment arrangement with you. I did and they are. The email address is:

grace.smyth(at)sonicpayday.ie

Like Egyptians, South Koreans endured a long time of American-backed dictatorship. In the spring of 1987, Koreda???s army government held sham electoins not in contrsat to the ones held in Egypt last November. In both locations, a combinaton of repression and rising expectations proved a flamable mix. If the actual set off for Egyptians was the sudden overthrow of Tunisia???s dictatorship final month, Koreans drew inspiration from the ???Individuals Power??? overthrow of Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines the 12 months before. Certainly, ???Marcos??? turned a code word for Korean reporters to explain their very own dictatorship.__________________Fast Toenails Fungus Remedy
