After two weeks, I received a response from my letter to 500FastCash, requesting a PIF and a refund of $195. I've loaned from them since December, and have paid $595 in interest alone. My current loan principal is $400, so wouldn't you think that I've paid the dues? This is what they sent me--I'm not sure how to respond to this:

they are MTE,sounds like they should refund you.i would respond they are illegal.therefore you reject there stupid settlement.if you filed AG complaints file follow-ups,if not file asap.don't let them try to buffalo you.

It's frustrating to me that they would even expect people to pay on TOP of what they already paid in illegal interest.

Ok, complaint has been filed to Wisconsin DFI/Attorney General. They already responded to my FTC complaint, using the same response they sent me. I replied, referencing my original letter, pointing out that I overpaid, and expect my account to be paid in full with a refund. I know that I am fully within my rights to expect that!

500FC is an irritating bunch. I eventually got them to give me a PIF, but gave up on getting the refund. I also have a complaint against them in with the FTC and Wisconsin Attorney General's office, so they're obviously building up a bit of a reputation.

I got a letter this weekend from the Attorney General of Oklahoma, stating that they are turning the case over to the Commission on Consumer Credit in Oklahoma, so hopefully there will be some progress on this--the PDL still hasn't responded to the BBB complaint and they only have until June 5. What happens if they don't respond? Does my case get dropped?

I got the same information from them when I filed with Oklahoma's Attorney General. I'm also from Wisconsin. Eventually you'll get a letter saying they can't help Wisconsin residents. You'll make more progress through Wisconsin's Attorney General's office.

Thanks for the heads up, WI Guy--I'm working with someone from the Wisconsin DFI on this, so I'm hoping the bases are all covered. I'm just concerned that two of my PDL's haven't responded to any of my complaints yet--it's been about 3 weeks since they were due and my complaints were filed.

Well, they finally responded to the BBB complaint. I'm not sure how to proceed with this now--here is their response:

We have already answered this same complaint directly to Ms. ******. We deposited 400.00 into her account at her request for her own use. She was a repeat customer, and was well aware of our terms and conditions BEFORE this last agreement, per recorded communication directly with her.
We offered her a settlement waiving all fees on 05/20. SHE REFUSED. No company gives away funds for free. The settlement is still in effect, we need 280.00 before 06/15/08. She borrowed $400.00 and only paid $120.00 before making her demands. We will not respond to any further re: this matter.

send a reply stating that they have no license to lend whatsoever.therefore you only owe what you borrowed,state the over payment of interest.these MTE places are so ridiculous,if you wish throw this in your letter.

MTE is an illegal lender,it must be there practice to bilk consumers out of a boatload of money.

see how that goes over.

Thanks Paul...I will do that. Boy, it sure appears that my being a "repeat customer" gives them the right to keep all that interest. ;-)

Ya know, I'm still going to push for a refund of what I have overpaid them, but I would certainly settle to just have a PIF and be over and done with it. No more repeat business from me from now on!

If you have sent a C and D letter, call Intercept EFT and speak with Cindy. I am sure that 500FastCash uses them as their processor because they are tied up with UsFastCash and ameriloan and Intercept confirmed that fact for me when I called. I got the same nonsense from UFC and Ameriloan when I sent my complaint to the BBB. It's nonsense. After you talk with the processor send an email off to them to let them know you have done so.

They weren't debiting my account either. I called them to let them know I had revoked with the PDL, they sent them an email and I sent a notice to the PDL that I had spoken with their processor. They are illegal and debit under various dba's. I didn't trust them to not debit my account. I guess they didn't like the fact that I had spoken with their processor because next thing I knew I had a PIF.

I see that the moderators have not had time to respond yet, so if I may make a suggestion . . . if you have already received the money in your account, either go to your bank and ask them to reverse the transaction or, assuming you really need the money because you were searching online for pay day loans, accept the money but do not allow 500FC to roll your loan over. Contact 500FC at least three days before your loan is due and tell them that you want to pay the loan off, not roll it over. I am guessing that your fees will be $45 ($15 for every $50 borrowed). 500FC will roll your loan over four times, then every month after will deduct $50 from the balance and additional fees. You will end up paying approximately $420.00 for your $150.00 loan. Before taking any other pay day loans (especially over the internet), you should research your state laws regarding pay day lending. FYI - This site has some excellent information on state laws.

What state are you in? 500fasctcash is NOT licensed to lend in most states.

more than likely because any MTE d/b/a is scum and should be treated as such.this doesn't suprise me in the least.ignore their sorry a$$e$.file a police report however and AG,AND FTC complaints.did you get a letter,or email stating the debt as paid or settled?if so then don't worry.chances are the settlement only padded their pockets.you owe them nothing,and don't let them try to sway you.
