forgive me if i am mistaken, but isnt pretending to be a law enforcement officer against the law? What I think might work is do a three way call to the local police department and have them verify the "officer" is indeed a legal professional. I am willing to bet they will hang up quicker than you could blink.

Guy who sounds like he is in Bangladesh says his name is "Ryan Smith" and claims to be working on a contract with the FBI. Says he is with the United Investigation Bureau Department (whatever that is?) and threatens legal action, but won't explain what it is. And he also won't discuss why he is not going through the normal legal channels of process serving, etc. This is a total scam, and it does not even make any sense. I wonder if anyone has gotten confused or frightened enough to submit money to these idiots?

This is a total scam run by HACKERS who threaten a lawsuit unless instant payment is made to them. This is a form of the Federal Crime of EXTORTION and these guys need to be locked up. The problem is, judging by their accents, they are based in Bangladesh or India or some other foreign country, although their call back number is in New York City.

What probably catches most people off guard is that these HACKERS have information like the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, the name and account number of your bank, the names and phone numbers of friends and relatives you use as references, etc.

It would be hard to arrest and prosecute these jerks if they are 10,000 miles away, but maybe the phone number can be suspended if enough people complain to the National Fraud Information Center.

On today's date these tards called my phone four times stating that I was committing fraudulent and criminal activity. I googled the number and located this blog. I was p-retty sure this was a B.S. scam and this site helped reenforce that. I decided it was my turn to be annoying and harassing.
I called the 347-844-6701 back and a man with a heavy indian, arabic accent answered stating he was from United States Legal Ihnvestigation. I asked for Habib. After repeating myself ten times the guy said maybe he could possibly help me if I provided my telpehone number. I told Habib that it was 4. Habib asked for the remaining numbers and I stated that there were none. Habib stated there had to be more. I advised him that my number was one of the first ever given out and that it had been passed down through the generations. Habib then placed me on hold and I hung up.
I called back. Habib answered and I asked for Habib. He stated that there was no one there my that name but he could assist me. Habib asked for my telephone number and I agian said it was 4. Habib stated that I was bull @#$% and I advised him that his company was bull #$%@. Habib hung up on me.
I called back. I asked for Habib and the man stated that he was Habib and asked what I wanted. I told him that they called me and what do they want. Habib placed me on hold. I hung up.
I called back. I asled for Habib and he stated that there was no one there by that name. Habib then hung up on me.
I called back again. Habib hung up as soon as he answered.
I called back again. Same result.

I guess Ill wait a while and call them again, to harass the crap out of them because it is highly entertaining to listen to Habib get mad. My suggestion to everyone is that if these tards call you. Call them back and harass the crap out of them. Maybe they will get annoyed and stop this crappy scam they have going for them.

I they don't hopefully the government will put a stop to this with enough complaints. Also for those that think contacting your local law enforcement with this information will help stop the phone calls it won't. Most of your local agencies won't be able to assist in this matter and it is best to contact your state attornety general's office or a federal agency. Not that local agencies are incompetent but it is beyond their ability as most of the phone calls originate out of your state or country.

So let this company get a tast of their own medicine, I will. Eventually when they call I'll answere and attempt to put a stop to this but in the meantime I can have fun to. Gotta go , Habib is awaiting my next call.

Then he hung up on me.
I have called other numbers and harrassed them. It is fun.
I have another number that I called, and they made up a "file" on me. They are supposed to arrest me at 4:30 today.
They don't even have my real name, they don't know anything about me except the lies that I told them.

This idiot has no clue how the US legal system works, just some wannabe 'hacker' who thought he scored big by breaking into a PDL site, whose security was probably the functional equivalent to a mute, deaf quadraplegic guarding an open doorway.

He must have realized pretty quick that the info he had was useless, too much was missing to openly steal from us, and some of us have credit so bad that an identity theif could only improve our credit. So he decided to try to prey on our stupidity. But he's too dumb to realize that we are smarter than that.

I was going to hunt the hunter, so to speak. Next time he called I was going to ask for an address to sent a cashier's check to. Make him beleieve that I don't trust credit/debit card transactions, as they are too easy to intercept. Same for wire transfers. I would convince him that a certified delivery of a cashiers check from the USPS would guarantee he gets his money.

If he's as dim as I think he is, I'd soon have an address that I could turn over to the authorities, or visit to 'educate' this idiot.

I have recieved a few phone calls from Habib. He stated that I need to pay 698 dollars with a credit card right now or I will bw arrested at 8 am the next morning. I told him that I was going to get in contact with my lawyer, and he said to have my lawyer contact him and hung up on me.

A few minutes later, I called Habib back pretending to be a lawyer. He asked my name, I told him it was I.P. Daily, and I worked for the law offices of Lycheatum and Steal. He would not give me any information and became very angry when I questioned his busniess practices. I asked him how much money he has made in this bogus operation. He told me I was a stupid piece of shit and hung up. I'm going to call again tomorrow. It's fun to piss these guys off. If they call you, don't give them any personal info, but have fun with them.

I also had a call from Habib calling himself Mr. Simpson, at work today. The company name he gave is United States Legal Investigations and that I was committing fraud with my social secuity number. I told him that I could not get calls at work and hung up. He called back and left an angry message on my work voice mail saying I hung up on Mr. Simpson's face. That I better call back, but left no number. At the same time, I received a voice mail on my cell phone from Mr. Simpson with an urgent message about committing fraud and imminent arrest with the phone number of 718-673-6146 to call back. the accents are very heavy middle eastern. I googled the number and made my way here. What can we do?

I was getting tons of calls from "United States Crime Suspect Department" (do a search for them on this site - 4 page thread detailing my saga). Thick Indian accents, wanting me to pay $400 on a PDL supposedly deposited to a bank account I'd never even had. 100% BS. I too got the threats of jail time, "sheriff coming to pick you up in 20 minutes" "We are downloading your information to the attorney general today" etc. I filed complaints with every agency imaginable, to no avail. I ignored their calls as much as possible. They called my job 5-6 times per day. They tried to speak to my HR manager (I took the call and pretended to listen). They called my home at 7 AM, sometimes ten times in a row. When they would get me on the phone, I'd just listen and say Mmm hmm" until they got done with their little spiel, and then I'd tell them "Ok, go ahead." They'd ask if I was refusing to pay, and I'd just say "Yep. Good luck." Then they'd say "Someone will come to arrest you in 20 miutes" and hang up. Funny, I haven't been arrested yet. They did this maybe 5 times, and I kept up the same routine of telling them to come and get me for their BS debt. Then the calls stopped completely. I think they finally realized I wasn't a sucker who was going to get scared and pay them off.

I just received two calls from an Officer Anderson.He never states what company he was with. The caller ID showed United Health Care but the # was 952-992-6315. I answered the line thinking it was an Insurance Company calling. He then proceeded to tell me in a very thick non-understndable accent that I had committed a Federal Crime that I could solve outside the court or in front of a judge. I told him I would be happy to meet with him in front of the judge anyday / anytime. He had to ask someone else how to respond to that one!! He told me he would see me there & hung up. He then called right back & told me to listen to him so I listened..did not understand the accent...but I listened and when he was done I asked him what country he was calling from....never got that anwer either.....He just kept rambling about going to the judge & I told him AGAIN that I would be happy to meet him there just tell me when to show up. I am now getting UNKNOWN CALLS that are hanging up when it reaches voice mail.

I left the information on my V/M stating my marting vaja of UNITED STATES LEGAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT AND ASSOICATES FBI AGENT xxx WOULD LIKE YOU TO GIVE HER A CALL IN REF TO CASE NUMBER XYZ. PRETENDING TO REP. YOURSELVES AS LAW OFFICIALS. so i do not have to deal with these degenerates.
stating the FBI agents name in charge of the case/ the case number and that the FBI would like to speak to them about falsely representing themselves as law officials which is a federal offense. to cease communications with this phone number and any other phone numbers they have on file/ records.

yeah now they called me back. they called my cell and could not get to my v/m now they called my job telling me who thank god i picked up and i told them i no longer worked thier that i had written a bad check to a pdl loan co an that my company was invoulved in fraud. that they where going to have the us marshals at my job. im like i know better but i can't have them calling my dam job.

I agree with NASCAR Devil, tell 'em you'll be waiting for them; I swear, these outfits must all go by the same script! Might not be a bad idea to keep a log of when they call and what they say, just for your own info, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over them.
