I got a call from them (but it was a wrong number, which is odd) and checked them out online. On another forum a person said that their name was Oasis Financial.

[SIZE=3][COLOR=Black]I received a call a Ms. Sue Smith called me a a little while ago who represented from this Oasis Financial claiming that I owe $810.00 with interest claiming that I took out a loan in the amount of $510.00 back in October 2005. They had my old bank account number for which I closed in December 2004 and also filed bankruptcy in that same timeframe. I have not even taken out a payday loan since December 2004.
She provided me her direct contact number of 866-964-8194 Ext 710
I tried to explain this to this lady and asked for some type of documentation which she claimed that she could not provide to me. She also told me that it is already notated on my credit report which is untrue because I just checked my credit report. Go figure!
I know for a fact I did not take out a payday loan in 2005. Definitely not!! She told me that I would need to contact my lawyer and have him send info to the payday loan company for which I filed bankruptcy with. Well that does not exist because I did not take a payday loan out at that time for real.
I asked this lady where are they based out of and she said Florida. I have never heard of this company and I also asked her what is the name of the supposed payday loan company that she is representing but did not have that information so she claimed. I will not pay for this nor will I will not call her back
I will report this company to the Attorney General in that state along with the BBB and the FTC as well. I smell a serious scam for real!

fluffycakes2006 please change your font size and color to something a little more bearable. I almost went blind reading your post  Just an FYI.
To address your concern, simply collect all the information you can from this company and report them to the appropiate authorities if the harrassment continues. Make sure to seek guidance from your state AG, and DFI. Also send them a DV letter if you manage to get an address from them. Best of Luck
866 964-8194 Calls
Ok, I received two calls from someone who sounds like he's drunk or something. I can't understand his name, but I will tell you this...I went through a similar situation last year with a company who turned out to be a total fake. They left me alone after I turned them over to the State's Attorney and they took it from there. Also, let's keep in mind, too, that when certain accounts that we have had left unpaid are reaching the expiration of their statute of limitations, so-called collectors are going to be coming out of the wood works trying to collect on them, even if they've already been paid through other resources, and, believe it or not they may have never existed but somehow they have attached your name to it. We have to be careful of these people. I paid $700 to a company back in 2004 and another company called me a year later on the same account, I called the company where the loan originated from and they had no record of having receive the payments from the company I paid the money to, and they even told me that the account wasn't even that much, not even $400. I tried contacting the company where I paid the money -- they were nowhere to be found.
I say this to say this...any time someone calls you sand says, "This call is for xxxx, please have yourself or your attorney contact xxxx," I wouldn't waste the time calling them back, or I'd call them and give them such a hard time that they wouldn't want to call you back.
Oh, and if any body gets a letter saying there's a judgement pending against you and pertinent information is missing, and the listed creditor is someone you've never had an account with, I would not acknowledge it because if there is a judgement pending against, you would have been notified of being taken to court. But you know there are a lot of collection agencies who are operating illegally, many of them are being sued, and many of them are not even real collection agencies, and it is against the law for ANY collection agency to represent themselves as legal entities especially if they do not have lawyers working for them.
Be careful. Safeguard yourself anyway you can from these crooks. We can all have a little piece of mind knowing that they can't get away with what they are trying to pull.

I received a voicemail on my cell phone from a "Sheila at the Firm of Henderson & Pete", asking for me or my attorney to call 866-964-8194 x722. I know it's not a law firm, but a CA for an ancient online PDL that I more than paid back. I think that they just acquired my "account" from another CA. I think they got it from HPC/H&P Capital, Inc., who got it from AIS, who got the original from Arrowhead Investment (the PDL) in 2006.
