So. I am sort of nuts about getting a good credit score. I don't have a lot of credit history, which I am trying to build right now. I am planning on getting an apt in September, and I wouldn't want to ruin my chances of that because of these scoundrels. I COULD pay them the money (I have it), but there are other things I could do with that money like save it or use it to pay legit bills. So, I just won't out of the fact that they don't deserve it.
I stopped taking phone calls from these jerks. I tried to offer them the $120 I will pay but they refuse it, so I gave up (I will NOT give them a credit card # or checking acct #). NO WAY!
So, do we think they report to credit beaurus? I know for debt to be legit in the real world they need to be legal, but I am curious. I think this email is just to scare me to pay. I really liked the tidbits on buying a car. Hilarious.

They haven't on mine yet.. but other illegal payday companies have. All I did was dispute them with the reporing agency and it was deleted.

I received the exact same letter from United Cash Loans. I sent them a certified letter stating I was willing to pay the principal amount of the loan, which is $300, and I never heard a word from them until this weekend. They are stating in their letter, like the one you received, that I owe a balance of $510. When I logged into my account to set up payment arrangements, they were unwilling to accept any payment lower than $486. I'm sorry but that's not going to work for me. I'm not quite sure what to do so I just emailed them the letter that they aleady received. If they want the $300, I am more than willing to pay it, but since they are greedy and want more, they will get nothing. I don't think that an illegal payday lender can affect your credit. Someone tell me if i'm wrong. I feel certain it can be disputed. Are United Cash Loans and 500 Fastcash the same dba's? 500 Fastcash never even contacted me but turned my account immediately over to ACA Recovery. I only owe $210 but ACA wants $755. I'm in the process of fighting that right now.

That's what I thought. I figured, even if they did, I know the debt would be deleted for the reason that it is an illegal debt from an unlicensed company.
Alinewcombe-I'm pretty sure they are the same companies, but someone can tell me if I am wrong. Usually, if they use the same exact letter, they are the same company. I also agree with you. They won't even give me an address to send *any* payment, so right now I don't care about them. You think they would at least accept something. I only owe $120, and they want $480. No way. I also did that thing online, and they wouldn't accept anything lower than $456. So, I'm guessing they are both MTE Financial - which is the worst place. Even if some places do report it, MTE I don't think would put themselves out there like that to report it. I know payday loan companies have their "own bearu", so go ahead.
Hopefully, someone can come along and answer for sure. Just so I know if I'll have to contact the reporting agencies in a month or so to check if I need it deleted.

Question, did you guys pay on the date they specified or did you guys not pay when the payment was due? If you did pay on the date they stated for you, were they still taking money from your account?? Just wanting to know what they are doing.

I had already closed my account when I started receiving the emails from United Cash Loans. I am still receiving phone calls on a regular basis and I'm getting calls from several different numbers with heavy accented people leaving me threatening messages. I have a balance with United Cash Loans and 500 Fast Cash but they were both unwilling to accept the principal balance owed on the loan. I live in NC where they are completely prohibited, so I know my rights. I was only trying to do the moral thing by paying back what I borrowed but apparently it's just not good enough. I've paid nothing back to United Cash Loans but that is due to their greediness and not for my lack of trying.
United cash & 500Fastcash both caused my bank to close my accoun
United cash & 500Fastcash both caused my bank to close my account. They kept trying to take payments on unauthorized days which resulted in numerous NSF's. the bank says we owe them for all the NSF's which I will not pay and the I ma ignoring the calls from both of these places because according to my records I owe a lot less and they would not accept my offer. Where do I go from here?

Start a new thread with the following information:
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.
If they were unauthorized, you should be talkjng with your bank.
If they were unauthorized, you should be talkjng with your bank. Go to your nearest branch and ask for an unauthorized electronic debit form. Include the day and dollar amount of every incident. Your bank will refund the money and NSF fees. Send a letter to 500cashwhatever telling them all authorization to debit your accounds has been revoked
