I am filing ch #13 in about 2 weeks, 3 max. I just defaulted on two payday loans yesterday with NSF and haven't heard from them YET Probably 2 or 3 more Payday loans will default too in next 3 weeks. Since I am filing so soon is it best to avoid their call and not listen to their threats? What if they call me at work? Can they take garnishment action or any kind of real action against me that quickly? And finally, do the illegal on-line paydown loan companies, such as 500 fast cash, USfastcash and discount advances, stop their collecting if they are notified of a bankruptcy stay, or do they think they can break those rules too and keep pursuing no matter what. Thanks everyone.

It wouldn't surprise me if the illegal lenders ignored the BK laws, but I don't know for sure. Make sure you send them a wage assignment revocation, in case they get any ideas, even the legal lenders (some of them) have you sign a wage assignment agreement at the time of obtaining a loan. That way, if they do decide to attempt to attach your wages they will need to get a court order to do so, and that takes more than a couple of weeks.
