Hello to everyone:

I just wanted to let any Wisconsin residents know that the state of WI has a program called "Chapter 128" which is not bankruptcy, but which allows you to repay unsecured debts interest free. The plans are staright forward and very effective when dealing with high interest payday lenders. To qualify you must have some regular source of income and be able to repay the balance over 36 months. You can include payday loans, medical bills, utility bills and credit cards. I am seeing more and more individuals with multiple payday loans, where they borrow from one to pay another and it goes on and on. These plans are perfect for individuals in this situation because most people want to avoid bankruptcy and just need help getting the interest rates under control. If you need help please contact the solicitation not allowed - Jason. Thank you.

I haven't used it myself, but I do know people that did and it did help them. There are some posts on here from people it didn't work for also. But it all depends on who you work through. If your using a fly by night lawyer then it's gonna suck. Use someone who KNOWS what they are doing and check them out BEFORE you agree to anything.

The filing fee in Milwaukee is $25.50 for most other counties it is $22.00. I am an attorney and I file alot of these for individuals with payday loans and they have worked great. You can contact consumer credit counselers of Milwaukee for a list of participating attorneys or contact the Chapter 128 trustee(s).
