florida question

I took out a few payday loans when I lived in New York. I found out after overpaying them that they are illegal in New York. Since then, I have moved to Florida. I go to the mailbox and lo and behold, they have sent me a notice from NCA.
Turns out that Kenwood is licensed in Florida. At least I think so. Anyway, my question is, since the loan was taken out in NY, is it still illegal even though I live in Florida now?
