took out a $500 payday loan, the company took $1500 from my account then yesterday took an additional $583 when it said the balance is $180 what can be done

Inform your bank or credit union if you see a payment that you didn't authorize or a payment made after you revoked the authorization. If you’re having a problem in stopping a lender from taking out money from your account, you can contact your state regulator or state attorney general . You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-2372.

Who is the lender? Do you know if they are legal in your state? First, revoke the ACH authorization with your bank so that the lender can't take away money from your account. What state are you in by the way? How much interest are you paying on the loan? If the lender is legal, all you need to do is pay the principal amount. Otherwise, you have to try for a settlement.
